As I prepared for my trip to Cambridge, England, I wondered what I would possibly write about for this blog. None of the things I experience will be everyday experiences. All of them are unique to these three weeks. I continued to think about this as I found myself with two other writers (Elizabeth and Alysa) discussing this issue. One of them told me, “But these things are everyday for the people who live here.”

That’s part of what I love about being here, living here. While I sit here in awe of the beauty, so many are living their daily lives. Because I am a visitor, the beauty stands out to me. It is different. “How in the world could people take this for granted?” I wonder. Just as I take anything back home for granted.

Maybe we should all walk around our home towns like tourists with a camera.
